JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a natural kind and caring nature towards animals to join our team. No previous dog or cat experience is necessary as full extensive training will be provided, including safe handling, how to care for pets, basic welfare needs, first aid and behaviour.

Dog Walker Job Responsibilities:

• Being physically able to walk all sizes and breeds of dogs

• Ability to multi-task and walk multiple dogs at once.

• Walking dogs in various weather conditions.

• Be observant and communicate if there were any injuries, unusual or abnormal observations during the walk.

• Safely transporting dogs to and from their homes.

• Picking up and disposing of pet waste.

• Ensuring that all dogs have fresh water and food as required.

• Scheduling suitable times to walk dogs as per clients preferred requests.

• Taking all necessary precautions to ensure that the dogs and those around them are safe.

• Providing regular updates to clients, which includes sharing photos and videos.

Pet Sitter Job Responsibilities:

• Occasionally meeting with pet owners to gather important pet care information and discuss pet sitting duties.

• Being able to follow instructions carefully as provided by pet owners

• Providing pets with food and fresh water as per instructed.

• Be observant and communicate if there were any unusual or abnormal observations or behavioural issues during the visit.

• Administering medication to pets according to the instructions provided by pet owners.

• Cleaning out litter boxes, crates or other mess caused by the pet.

• You should also be able to vacuum pet hair and dander off carpets and furniture, or any other non-pet related duties as per requested by pet owner.

• Exercising pets as needed, which includes playing and encouraging physical and mental exercise.

• Grooming pets as required, using force free methods.

• Promptly notifying pet owners of pet illnesses or injuries that may occur.

• Ability to call emergency vets when necessary.

• Providing regular updates to clients/manager, which includes sharing photos and videos.

Essential Requirements:

• Must be Punctual and Reliable.

• Trustworthy and Responsible individual.

• Full clean drivers license and access to a car

• Must bee flexible to cover any illness from other team members.

• Willingness to learn about the care of different pets

​

Full training and insurance will be provided. A garda check may also be required before a candidate is successful.

 

We work on a 'Pain Free, Force Free, Fear Free' basis, where all the pets we care for are handled and treated in the gentlest ways and where good behaviour is rewarded using positive reinforcement. No pets are forced to do anything they don't want to, and every pet we see are showered with lots of play and affection.

This is not a full-time employment position, and should not be relied on for an income as hours cannot be guaranteed. This is a part-time position covering maternity leave, with the potential to continue on with the company once this period has ended. You will be expected to work a minimum of 3 hours a week, up to but not exceeding 10 hours per week.
